Warrenville in Bloom
PLANTING PRIDE IN OUR COMMUNITY
ABOUT US
Founded in 2006, Warrenville in Bloom was created to transform our city into the beautiful
place we knew it could be, utilizing criteria of the national America in Bloom initiative.
OUR VISION
To improve our local community by supporting beautification of the City, environmental awareness, and other
groups with similar missions as we work together to help make Warrenville a
wonderful place to live, work, and play.
HOW WE STARTED
The beginnings of Warrenville in Bloom go back to 2006 when Dwight Lund, a judge in the national America in Bloom program, recognized the value of city participation. With persistence, he found a willing project manager and together they developed a group of volunteers and City support. A year later, the City had 30 hanging baskets, 10 floral ground planters, gardens at 8 City signs, and 3 native plant butterfly gardens.
AMERICA IN BLOOM
Periodically we enter the City into the national America in Bloom program that brings two judges to spend two days touring and evaluating our town. Recognition and awards are presented at the Annual
America in Bloom Symposium in fall
when we receive a comprehensive
evaluation report prepared by the judges. Warrenville has been awarded four out of five blooms in past evaluations, with special recognition for Environmental Efforts.
